Hi friend,Training Nationals for Nationals\u00a0in integrity and skills (Psalm 78:72)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
(Rom 8:18)\u00a0: \u201cFor I reckon that the sufferings of this present time\u00a0are\u00a0not worthy\u00a0to be compared\u00a0with the glory which shall be revealed in us.\u201d<\/div>\n
(Psalm 31:15)\u00a0: \u201cMy times\u00a0are\u00a0in thy hand.\u201d<\/div>\n
June was anticipated to be a relaxing month with not too many assignments and a time for resting and refreshing; but it was not to be!\u00a0 \u00a0For about two weeks, time stood still. \u00a0\u00a0Three were hospitalized and my wife and I had to be in and out of hospital, visiting sometimes in the wee hours of the morning.\u00a0 One was a 83 yrs old lady that had cancer of lungs; another, a 43 yrs old man who had brain concussion and the last one, 93 yr old man (my father-in-law) who went through roller coaster emotions of whether he should have his left leg amputated above the knee.<\/div>\n
As never before, we entered into some powerful waves of emotions, of pain, anguish, \u00a0despair and death.\u00a0 \u00a0The good Lord took to Himself two and spared one as witness of His continued grace and love.\u00a0 \u00a0There were crisis management, pain management and death management.\u00a0 \u00a0We have learnt afresh and knew that in all our afflictions, He is afflicted (Isa. 63:9).\u00a0 \u00a0Surely He has borne our griefs and has carried our sorrows (Isa. 53:4).\u00a0 We also entered into the fellowship of His suffering as we felt the sufferings of others.<\/div>\n
Pain, that stabbing, stinging sword!\u00a0 Silently but surely, it wins battles deep within the lonely soul with the accompanying depths of anguish and despair.\u00a0 The cries of the 42 years old wife: \u00a0\u00a0Why God?\u00a0 What bad did I do?\u00a0 What bad did he do? \u00a0What is going to happen to me?\u00a0 To my three little ones?\u00a0\u00a0 The denial, the anger, the tears, the hope denied and the struggle to trust Him no matter what.\u00a0 Praise the good Lord, He came to save, to comfort and to strengthen.\u00a0 He stepped in. \u201cIt is I, be not afraid!\u201d (John 6:20).\u00a0 What a transforming moment.\u00a0 We submit and learn, growing in the Lord, instead of being bitter and despondent.<\/div>\n
Yes, our times are in His Hands.\u00a0 He chooses where, who, what, when, why and how.\u00a0\u00a0 And He is sufficient for our needs and His purpose.\u00a0\u00a0 He brings us into, in, with and through every situation of life.\u00a0 We grow more to be like Him, to know Him, the power of His resurrection and to enter into the fellowship of His suffering, being made conformable to His death (Phil. 3:10).\u00a0\u00a0 We enter into His love and compassion for every pain, anguish and despair.\u00a0\u00a0 God and His Word dwell richly in our hearts in a real and experiential way.\u00a0 God be praised!<\/div>\n
Today, let us seize the moment.\u00a0\u00a0Carpe Diem!<\/div>\n
I.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0INDONESIA \u2013 MEDAN\u00a0(June 27 - 1 July) \u2013 God opened this good door of training in His own timing.\u00a0 We are in our third year with some 60 wonderful pastors and leaders.\u00a0 \u00a0Praise the good door for the good success of the team.\u00a0 The training was well received and the trainers welcomed back to train more. \u00a0\u00a0The ASM Ebenezer Hall was dedicated.\u00a0 It will also be used by the Bible Institute.\u00a0 God is so good in supplying our needs.<\/div>\n
Another team will be there\u00a05 - 9 September\u00a0.The last session for the year will be in\u00a021 - 25 November. \u00a0\u00a0An exciting blessing will be the first graduation in Medan.\u00a0 Please pray for and with us that the good Lord will lead and bless.<\/div>\n
II.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0MYANMAR - JOURNEY WITH REV. JAMES. We are entering the 25th<\/sup>\u00a0year of partnership with Rev. James.\u00a0\u00a0 At present, there are a fellowship of 30 churches and a Bible Seminary to up-grade the present leaders and to train new ones.\u00a0 The latest count in the Seminary is 40 students.\u00a0 We need prayers and partnership in providing scholarships for these.\u00a0 For the whole year of study, the need is US$200 (about S$250) per student for a grand total of US$8000 (S$10,000).\u00a0\u00a0 God, who has provided year by year, will surely provide.\u00a0 Jehovah-jireh!\u00a0 \u00a0Please let us know if you will be praying and sponsoring some scholarships.\u00a0 We are training these to reach their own for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and for eternity.<\/div>\n
Two friends and I will be in Yangon, training some 70 pastors and leaders,\u00a025-30 July.\u00a0\u00a0 We are also exploring God\u2019s will for the seminary there.\u00a0 Rev. James will be visiting us in Yangon.\u00a0 Please do pray for God\u2019s wisdom and strength.\u00a0 May His will be done!<\/div>\n
III.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Nepal
