{"id":536,"date":"2011-12-14T21:24:09","date_gmt":"2011-12-14T13:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/?p=536"},"modified":"2013-01-12T19:17:55","modified_gmt":"2013-01-12T11:17:55","slug":"myanmar-mission-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/?p=536","title":{"rendered":"Myanmar Mission Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<div itemprop=\"blogPost\" itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\">\n<div itemprop=\"description articleBody\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">December 14, 2011<\/p>\n<address><b>Faith@work<\/b><\/address>\n<address><b>through<\/b><\/address>\n<address><b>Asia Seminary for Ministry<\/b><\/address>\n<address>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <b>(Seminary without borders)<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/address>\n<div><b>Myanmar Mission Report (Nov 22-Dec 2, 2011)<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Thank God for a wonderful trip!\u00a0 The Church Leaders and Bible College Students' zeal for knowledge never fail to amaze me.\u00a0 I consider it a privilege to have a part in their ministry and I am always thankful to God for giving me such contacts and opportunity.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Pyin Oo Lwin (Nov 23-26: the book of Philippians):<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The team of 4 (Rev Freddy Yong and Theresa, Bro Ding Yew Soong, and myself) arrived on November 22 at Yangon and took a flight to Mandalay on November 23.\u00a0 Bro Ding taught\u00a0<i>Leadership Laws<\/i>\u00a0at Mandalay, while Freddy, Theresa and I proceeded to Pyin Oo Lwin.\u00a0 I started teaching the book of Philippians that night.\u00a0 Fourty students from Myanmar Reformed Bible College (Chinese) picked up their color pencils and started marking.\u00a0 First they discovered the background, followed by determining the main theme of every chapter, and finally they were all required to mind map a detailed outline of every chapter.\u00a0 Below are examples of their hard work.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/?attachment_id=542\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-542\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-542\" alt=\"pix 111210 a1\" src=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/pix-111210-a1.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-541\" alt=\"pix 111210 b\" src=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/pix-111210-b.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"152\" \/><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Mind maps of Philippians 1 &amp; 2 by the students<\/div>\n<div>The 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0and 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0year students had learnt this method of studying the Bible on the books of 3 John and Haggai.\u00a0 I left for Mandalay on November 26, but Rev Freddy took over the task of teaching the 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0and 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0year students on the book of 3 John and\u00a0<i>the parable of the Prodigal Son<\/i>.\u00a0 He did a great job and both Freddy and his wife are eager to go back to teach in Pyin Oo Lwin.\u00a0 He plans to teach this in Malaysia too.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Mandalay (Nov 26-Dec 30: the book of Revelation):<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The class was held at Fundamental Baptist Seminary.\u00a0 Rev James Biaklain was my interpreter. Forty-five pastors and leaders attended this module.\u00a0 Due to the lack of commentaries on the book of Revelation, requiring them to do a research would be absurd. I made them read the book ten times and outline the entire book of Revelation both in a chart form and in pictures.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/?attachment_id=540\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-540\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-540\" alt=\"pix 111210 c3\" src=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/pix-111210-c3.jpg\" width=\"174\" height=\"103\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/?attachment_id=539\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-539\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-539\" alt=\"pix 111210 d\" src=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/pix-111210-d.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>These pastors were busy putting Revelation into pictures.<\/div>\n<div>They were made to write and draw the 7 Churches, 7 Seals, 7 Trumpets, 7 Bowls and 7 Figures.\u00a0 They were assigned to teach or preach from the Book of Revelation and write a report.\u00a0 One of the lecturers shared that he dared not teach this book, but after this module, he is now confident to do so.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Yangon (Dec 1-2: III John)<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This is a totally new group.\u00a0 The principal Moses Liancuh was my classmate in the Doctor of Ministry class at Singapore Bible College.\u00a0 Moses pastors a church which take care of orphans.\u00a0 He has 40 students in his Peniel Bible College.\u00a0 He has the best team of co-workers I have seen in Myanmar so far.\u00a0 They are young, dedicated and eager to learn. The 40 students were so excited learning how to use both the right and left brain to study the Bible.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/?attachment_id=538\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-538\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\" alt=\"pix 111210 e1\" src=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/pix-111210-e1.jpg\" width=\"209\" height=\"129\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/?attachment_id=537\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-537\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-537\" alt=\"pix 111210 f\" src=\"https:\/\/faw.hemanbags.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/pix-111210-f.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"129\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Using Mind Map to outline 3 John in Peniel BC. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0A 4th year student asking how to use both the right &amp; left brains effectively.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0I did what I taught in Pyin Oo Lwin, using 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0John.\u00a0 The senior students immediately saw this method Bible Study as the best substitute for commentaries, which are costly. All the lecturers and their wives sat in for the classes.\u00a0 Moses\u2019 wife, Sharon, wisely put it across to me that I must come back to teach them again for another 2 to 3 times to help them get a hang of it.\u00a0 Moses and his team are still young with full of energy and dynamism. I am looking forward to go back to train both the lecturers and students again next year.<\/div>\n<div>All the 3 Bible Colleges lack resources and funds, but the leaders are men and women of faith.\u00a0 We not only taught but also provide them with all the necessary stationery and extra cash to buy food and petrol.\u00a0 We took the trouble also to give Christmas gifts to some of the lecturers, whose salaries range from $39 to $100. The cost of living has doubled, but their wages remain the same.\u00a0 These 3 groups are very conservative, evangelistic and spiritual.\u00a0 They pray and fast frequently.\u00a0 It is our privilege to be partakers of their wonderful ministries \u2013 by\u00a0 Beng Shin.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank God for a wonderful trip!
