SEMINAR ON CARE MINISTRY<\/b><\/p>\n
The two greatest commandments stated by Jesus Christ are loving God and loving others (Matt. 22:37-40).\u00a0Everything in life depends on these two relationships.\u00a0\u00a0God provides the presence and power through the Holy Spirit (Rom. 5:5).\u00a0\u00a0It is God who energizes us both to will and to do His good pleasure (Phil. 2:13).\u00a0\u00a0In these relationships, we need the spiritual disciplines and the dedicated and developed skills.<\/b><\/p>\n
SEMINAR OVERVIEW<\/b>:<\/b><\/p>\n
In Christian Care, we need to provide an environment of caring and sharing for people to grow and mature. Three ingredients are involved: encouragement, exhortation and enlightenment.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>Encouragement:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
(Heb 3:13)<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0But\u00a0encourage\u00a0one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
Encouragement is a process to\u00a0bring strength and support\u00a0to a\u00a0person\u2019s feelings\u00a0in difficult times.\u00a0\u00a0Key skills to be developed include:\u00a0\u00a0Be alert to opportunities.\u00a0\u00a0Learn the art of listening.\u00a0\u00a0Empathise with hurt feelings. Use the right words.\u00a0\u00a0Learn to use door openers. Understand body languages.<\/b><\/p>\n
2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/b>Exhortation<\/i><\/b>:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>(1Th 5:11)<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Wherefore\u00a0exhort\u00a0yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
Exhortation is a process of\u00a0providing direction\u00a0and hope through God\u2019s truth and grace, resulting in changed\u00a0character and behavior.\u00a0\u00a0Exhortation involves:\u00a0\u00a0How to motivate People. How to understand the Iceberg.\u00a0\u00a0Develop skills of right attitudes and questions.\u00a0\u00a0Follow Christ\u2019s example.<\/b><\/p>\n
3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>Enlightenment<\/b>:<\/b><\/p>\n
(Eph 1:18)<\/i><\/b>\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0eyes of your understanding\u00a0being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
Enlightenment is a process of bringing\u00a0God\u2019s perspectives\u00a0in\u00a0the renewing of the mind.\u00a0\u00a0Topics to be explored include:\u00a0\u00a0Facts about the mind. Listen to self-talk.\u00a0\u00a0Understand the ABC of emotions and thoughts.<\/b><\/p>\n
